When You Know What You Know!
Do not fear, for I am with you;Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
(Isaiah 41:10, NASB)
The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever. (Isaiah 40:8, NASB)
Sometimes I think we apply the words, “knowledge is power” to every realm except the spirit realm. In business who you know might get you a promotion, whether you earned it or not. In the halls of academia, WHAT you know will get you the grade. But I want to challenge us to think of those words in light of our Christian experience.
How many of us have faced a difficult set of circumstances and forgot who God is? No, you didn’t forget He existed, you just forgot Who He is. You forgot His Word says He is a Provider, a Healer, and a Deliverer. When your heart broke you forgot His Word says He is near to the broken hearted. I have learned in my Christian walk that I can stand on what I know. When you know what God’s Word says, then you have power. When you walk in the Holy Ghost, you have power. David, as a boy, faced Goliath with confidence because he knew His God. He didn’t go to Goliath wearing Saul’s armor, but he went in the power of almighty God.
Whatever you’re facing today – and remember we’re ALL facing something – go in your knowledge that God will keep you. He will hold you up! Remember His Word stands forever! Nothing will ever shake, move, or deter His Word. But our job as believers is to get His Word on the inside of us so we have something to stand ON! But don’t just read it; allow God to show Himself to you as you read. Knowledge really IS power.
