Father,
You are the perfect parent. I admit I don’t know how to parent. I need You to show me how to parent my adult children. Lord, I need You to parent through me. Remind me when to speak and when to remain quiet, when to give and when to wait for You to provide for them. I realize that parenting is a life- long ministry. Teach me how to parent!
Thank You for keeping my children in all their ways. I thank You for being their Shepherd who protects them at all times from any and all accidents and injuries, and from being victimized in crime, violence or any attack on their lives, intentional or unintentional. I thank You for assigning strong and mighty angels to watch over them and keep them safe from all hurt, harm, and danger. And may You keep them from getting involved in, or addicted to drugs, alcohol, smoking or any other substance abuse or addictive habits.
I pray that You would divinely lead, guide and direct them by Your Spirit throughout their lives. I pray for Your wisdom and discernment upon them in choosing the right jobs, careers, churches, friends, relationships, and in every venture, opportunity and avenue of their lives. May my son find his wife as You have said, ”He who finds a wife, finds a good thing.” May my daughter’s husband find her, and she will be a good thing for him. May her husband love her as Christ loves the Church, and my son love his wife as Christ loves the Church.
In Jesus’ Name Amen!!

This is one of the most beautiful prayers that I’ve ever read. It’s a prayer that covers every issue that we as parents have gone to God with about our own adult children. I thank whoever penned this prayer because I believe that many parents have prayed this prayer for their adult children in some form of it or another. May God bless whoever they are.
